Introduction (The Facts about Africa)
Africa is the second largest continent in the world by land mass, covering about 30.3 million km2 (11.7 million square miles) [Just know its really big]. Africa alone makes up about 20% of the earths land mass and 6% of its total population.
It’s also the 2nd most populous continent on earth, only second to Asia (And that’s because China is in Asia). Africa has a population of 1.216 billion people in 2020, with Nigeria making up about 200 million of those people and coming in as the most populous black nation.
Fact: Did you know that Lagos is the biggest city in Africa?
Fact: Africa has the youngest average population in the world.
Fact: 16% of the human population come from Africa.

Why is Africa poor
Now that’s an interesting question. The worlds richest continent in terms of natural resources turns out to have the lowest per capital income?
The answer is not so easy, but it can easily be attributed to poor leadership across the continent. Africa’s history also paints a gruesome picture, riddled with slave trade and colonization.
Will Africa be great again?
This is a strong yes. Africa has one of the fastest growing cities in the world. Lagos for example is rated amongst one of the largest and fasted growing cities in the world.
Africa will be great again, its just going to take time.

- Algeria:
The current president of Algeria is Abdelmadjid Tebboune. He won the 2019 presidential election on the 12th of December and assumed the office on 19 December 2019.
- Angola:
João Lourenço is the current president of Angola and has been in office since 26 September 2017
- Benin:
Patrice Talon is the 8th president of Benin Republic and the current president. He assumed office on the 6th of April 2016
- Botswana:
Mokgweetsi Eric Keabetswe Masisi is the fifth and current President of Botswana. He has been in office since 2018.
- Burkina Faso:
Roch Marc Christian Kaboré is the current President of Burkina Faso and has been in office since 2015.
- Burundi:
The current president is Pierre Nkurunziza, and has been in office since being elected first president of the post-transition republic on 26 August 2005.

He emerged the president of Comoros on 30 April 1999 after leading a coup to depose acting president Tadjidine Ben Said Massounde.
