It is important to note that not all courses offered at the Secondary Education level are compulsory to gain admission into Nigerian tertiary institution. While for some that are compulsory, it is not mandated for students to have a credit pass in the subjects before they can process or successfully gain admission to study a course in Nigerian tertiary institutions.

Chemistry is not a major core subject for some science courses. You don’t need credit in Chemistry to study some major courses in Nigeria universities but you definitely must have a passing grade like D7 or E8. Some of you are sitting at home for long because you don’t have credit in Chemistry or English Language but I have a piece of good news for you.

Physics is also a key subject to students in Science class. It is a compulsory subject in the secondary school level. However, students seeking to further their educational pursuit have been asking if they can gain admission into a tertiary institution in Nigeria without a good grade in the subject. Others have also been asking if there was a course they can study in tertiary institutions in Nigeria that won’t have government as one of its requirements.

 Many have given up on their admission pursuits in past admission years because they failed in the subject; Physics and therefore did not meet up with basic requirements, 

The goods news is that it is not all science courses that require Physics or a credit pass in Physics before you can successfully apply or gain admission into Nigerian tertiary institution.

Schools You Can Apply To Without Chemistry Or Physics

You can apply to this courses at most of the Federal Universities, State Universities, Private Universities,  Federal Polytechnics, State Polytechnics, Private Polytechnics, Federal Monotechnic, State Monotechnic, Private Monotechnic and college of Educations in the country.

The major requirement for admission for science courses is five credit passes in SSCE which include: Mathematics, English, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, and some other subjects like Geography and Agric. Science.

However, it is important to note that while some of these institutions will give you admission without chemistry or physicswithout any stated conditions, some of them will give you admission with conditions such as, aspirant must have at least a either D7, E8 pass in the subject or aspirants should have a credit or pass in another subject in lieu of the subject being discussed i.e. (Chemistry or Physics)
